Art Market: Prominent Collection Value of the Image of St. Guangong

www.guangong.hk News: Since the Three Kingdoms, the story of Guangong’s loyalty has been spread for thousands of years. On the land of China, Guangong was knighted by 16 emperors in the past dynasties. The image of Guangong was honored as the synonym of loyalty and the moral idol of the Chinese nation, and was enshrined by the general public as the God of Wealth. With the generations heading for the South Asian nations to seek their fortunes, the incense of Guanyu has gradually spread throughout the world.

Over the past two years, collectors at home and abroad have paid more and more attention to the collection of Guangong's artistic image. In the auction market, the price of a statue of Guangong ranged from thousands yuan to tens of thousands yuan, from tens of thousands yuan to hundreds of thousands yuan, and then to millions yuan or even tens of millions yuan.

1 ◎ Dry Lacquer Guangong Sitting Statue At the end of the Ming Dynasty is 70cm tall. It was auctioned in XiLing Seal Engraver's Society in July, 2018 with the transaction price of 920 thousand yuan.

2 ◎ Copper Forged Guangong Sitting Statue of Ming Dynasty is 99cm tall. In June 2017, it was auctioned in Sungari International Auction Co., Ltd. with the transaction price of 3.45 million yuan.

3 ◎ Sangharama Bodhisattva of the Ming Dynasty is 72 cm tall and is collected privately in Shanxi. In December 2016, it was auctioned in Beijing Hanhai Auction Co., Ltd. with the transaction price of 20.7 million yuan.

4 ◎ Copper Gilding Guangong Sitting Statue of the Ming Dynasty is 38cm tall, from a Taiwan collector. In January 2016, it was auctioned in Poly International Auction Co., Ltd. in Macao with the transaction price of 3.42 million yuan.

5 ◎ Mr. Pu Ru Guangong Hanging Scroll is 95×32 cm. In June 2016, it was auctioned in Beijing Poly International Auction Co., Ltd. with the transaction price of 1.38 million yuan.

6 ◎ Coral Guangong Decoration is 25cm tall, weighs 1062g. In November 2017, it was auctioned in Beijing Zhonghengxin Auction Co., Ltd. with the transaction price of 3.22 million yuan.

7 ◎ Wood Carving Guangong by Taiwan Master Zhu Ming is 1990. 76×24×23 cm, and belongs to Asian private collection. In October 2016, it was auctioned in Sotheby's with the transaction price of 1.37 million yuan and was collected by the Hanart TZ Gallery in Taiwan which received the signed work certificate from the author Zhu Ming.

8 ◎ Fossil Ivory Madder Red Guangong Statue is 33cm tall. In September 2018, it was auctioned in China Guardian Auction Co., Ltd. with the valuation of 90-150 thousand yuan (abortive auction), attached to the product collection certificate of the Zhongguo Mengma Xiangya Yishu Yanjiuhui.

9 ◎ Guangong God of Wealth Thang-ga is 137×120 cm. It was auctioned in Hongkong Council International Action Co., Ltd. in October 2018 with the transaction price of 1.53 million yuan.
