pass down from generation to generation: The memory of five gainers who gained Guan Yu Cultural special contribution award

The news from World Guangong Culture Net:Recently, Mr.Zhu Zhengming, a cultural scholar, said sadly that five of the six guests who gained special contribution award of Guan Yu culture  at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing died, left me alone. I was also more than sixty years old,to carry forward Guan Yu culture, we should pay attention to the training of young people, and there should be successors.

Mr.Wang Wenyuan, the former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), presented the award for the special contribution to Guan Yun culture in 2011

According to Mr.Zhu Zhengming’s memory, eleven years ago on the twenty-eighth of November in 2011, the Great Hall of the People in Beijing was particularly solemn and dazzling. Mr.Wang Wenyuan, the former vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Mr.Ma Zishu, the chairman of the China Foundation for Cultural Relics Protection, Mr.Xie Chensheng, the honorary chairman of the China Association for Cultural Relics Protection, Mr.Luo Zhewen, the chairman of the China Association for Cultural Relics Protection, and domestic and overseas experts and scholars,more than one hundred and fifty entrepreneurs gathered in the Aomen Hall of the Great Hall of the People. Six experts and scholars, including Mr.Xie Chensheng, Mr.Luo Zhewen, Mr.Hu Xiaowei, Mr.Guan Yingcai, Mr.Zhu Zhengming and Mr.Meng Haisheng, who made outstanding contributions to the promotion of Guan Yu culture and cultural relics protection, were awarded the special contribution award for the protection and development of Guan Yu cultural heritage.

Mr. Xie Chensheng is a famous expert in the field of Chinese cultural relics, honorary chairman of the Chinese Cultural Relics Protection Association, member of the Expert Committee of Chinese historical and cultural cities. He has made great efforts for the protection of cultural relics, and has won the lifetime achievement award for the protection of Chinese cultural heritage. In order to restore the Guan Yu temple located at the Xisi of Beijing, despite his 90-year-old age, Mr.Xie visited the site for inspection and submitted the rescue plan.

Mr.Luo Zhewen is a Chinese ancient architect and president of the Chinese Association for Cultural Relics Protection. Over the past 50 years, he has made strenuous efforts to protect cultural relics. He has personally visited 99 national cultural cities in China, visited the Guan Yu temple located at the Xisi of Beijing, and sent letters to relevant leaders to carry out emergency protection, while solved people's livelihood problems.

Mr.Hu Xiaowei was born in Chengdu and grew up as a researcher of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He studied Guan Yu culture for many years, and visited various relics and phenomenon of Guan Yu worship in Greater China. He has written treatises on Guan Yu culture with more than two million words, such as “the first God” and “research series of Guan Yu belief”.

Mr.Guan Yingcai is a leader of overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia. In order to promote Guan Yu culture,the 90-year-old Guan traveled to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and abroad, and made many good friends. He generously donated money to help the poor, invested in the construction of schools, donated money to open the Guan's library, and raised funds for the construction of the overseas Guan Yu temple .

Mr.Zhu Zhengming worked in the United Front Work Department of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, had a strong sense of responsibility for inheriting the China Guan Yu culture.In third-nine years, he has traveled to fifty-one countries and regions in five continents, taken more than 10,000 precious pictures, and published the treatises such as “the holy place of Guan Yu”, “the Gaun Yu culture in the world”, and “visit Guan Yu via going through the ends of the earth”. He has held overseas photography exhibitions of Guan Yu culture in the world for many times and made outstanding contributions to the restoration and reconstruction of the domestic and overseas palaces of Guan Yu.

In the golden autumn of 2018, Mr.Zhu Zhengming led guests from five continents to the roof of the world and made a pilgrimage to the world's highest Guan Yu temple located on Mount Everset

Mr.Meng Haisheng was a member of the CPPCC Standing Committee of Yuncheng City in Shanxi Province. During the action on breaking all the old culture of great cultural revolution in the last century, the local Red Guards proposed to destroy the Guan Yu temple in Xiezhou. Mr.Meng Haisheng, then served as the deputy director of the Red Guard committee of the university, opposed the destruction of the Guan Yu palaces,he led his classmates to work in four shifts a day for more than 40 days and protected the Guan Yu temple in Xiezhou and the Guan Yu ancestral temple in Changping. Over the past 20 years, he has carefully studied the Guan Yu culture and published papers and screenplays for more than 5 million words. He actively promoted the development of local Guan Yu culture.

The solemn and peaceful Great Hall of the People witnessed the first grand award for inheriting Guan Yu culture in the capital for over the years.

In September 2022, Mr.Zhu Zhengming (left) presented his new book “China Guan Yu walks into the three poles of the earth”to Mr.Wang Shi,the president of the Association for the Promotion of Chinese Culture and told the delicacy of Guan Yu culture in the world,in Yunchen located by the east bank of the Yellow River in Shanxi Province.

Mr.Zhu Zhengming said that looking back at the award, it was like a grand cultural relic rescue.

●A few months after the award, Mr.Luo Zhewen left us at the age of eighty-eight.

●One year after the award, Mr.Meng Haisheng left us only at the age of sixty-four.

●Two years after the award,Mr Hu Xiaowei left us only at the age of sixty-nine.

●More than two years after the award, the presenter, Vice President Wang Wenyuan, left us at the age of eighty-three.

●Ten years after the award, Mr.Guan Yingcai, a leader of the Southeast Asian Chinese, left us at the age of ninety-eight. 

●Eleven years after the award, in the summer of 2022, Mr. Xie Chensheng left us at the age of one hundred.

Mr.Zhu Zhengming said with emotion that the cause of carrying forward the China Guan Yu culture should be continued moving forward and passed down from generation to generation.Around the world, the halls of commemorating Guan Yu were more and more brilliant, the scenes of offering sacrifices to Guan Yu were more and more grand, the forums of studying Guan Yu were more and more elegant, and the associations named Guan Gong were more and more magnificent. I was glad to see that the thousand-year-old Guan Yu culture craze was showing more and more vigorous vitality on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and in the places where Chinese live in the five continents of the world.

On the eve of the National Day in 2022, teachers and students from the college of History and Culture of Hubei University presented a large rice paper picture titled “China Guan Yu comes from five continents,converges on the roof of the world”
