The Dissemination of Chinese Guandi Culture to African Officials

On November 30, 2008, the opening ceremony of “African Fine-quality Arts Exhibition” which is jointly sponsored by China-Arica Business Council and Cameroon Embassy in China was grandly started in BeijingBridge Art Center, opened the bridge. Mr. Zhu Zhengming, the Secretary-General of Hubei Provincial Sino-Arica Business Council attended the opening ceremony at the invitation. In addition, the African diplomatic envoys from Embassy of Africa in China, the responsible personnels of the related government department, domestic and foreign artists, entrepreneurs and other honorary guests attended the ceremony.

The major works of art on display are more than 500 articles such as wood carvings, masks and other religious ritual utensils as well as tambourine and clay vessels from Cameroon and some surrounding countries .Through careful selection of art, people can feel the ancient African civilization which has a long history and is mysterious,bright and brilliant.

At the exhibition hall, Mr. Zhu Zhengming presented the large-size picture album Guangong Culture Across the World to Mr. Paul, the Minister of Cameroon Embassy in China and introduced the Chinese Guandi Culture customs to foreign friends. It is learned that more than ten halls of Guandi Temples with a long history are in Mauritius, Madagascar, South Africa and other African countries.
