The First Guandi Ikon Calendar Came Out
August 4 (the lunar calendar June 24) of this year is Guangong’s 1850 birthday, and many places in the world commemorate Chinese martialist Guangong on this day. The World Guangong Culture Promotion Association tried to be different, published the first Guandi Ikon calendar in the world, to commemorate Chinese morality idol Guangong’s 1850 birthday.

The calendar displays Guandi ikons consecrated in Guandi temple of Xiezhou in Shanxi, Luoyang in Hennan, Dangyang in Hubei, Dali in Yunnan, Lhasa in Tibet, Taiwan, Hongkong and Makao, New York in America and Yokohama in Japan etc. The member of the national committee of CPPCC Wang Guoxin’s Chinese painting Achieving Immediate Victory and Famous Beijing painter Wang Kewei’s oil painting Eternal Hero were selected. The cover displays Guandi ikon made by the World Guangong Culture Promotion Association and “eternal loyalty” inscribed for Taiwan Guandi Temple by Ma Yingjiu. The calendar was published by Buddha Confucianism Culture Press.
To photograph Guandi ikons in the world, The vice president of the World Guangong Culture Promotion Association and photographer Zhu Zhengming has traveled over 290 thousand kilo meters for 26 years. When Guandi Ikons calendar was published, Zhu Zhengming said, “we should commemorate Chinese morality idol Guangong to propagate ‘loyalty, righteousness, humaneness, braveness and integrity’ spirit and advance harmonious development of the world.”
