World Guangong Culture news: In the afternoon of September 8th, 2012, Macao International Duke Guan culture forum was held in the STDM lecture hall of library in the University of Macao. He Chaoming, chief procurator of Macao SAR Government, Zhao Wei, president of University of Macao, Cheng Haidong, vice president of the University of Macao, the leaders from the central government in Macao liaison office, Taipei economic and cultural office cut the ribbon for the seminar and presented gift to the guest speakers.。

Mr. He Chaoming said: Duke Guan was known for his loyalty and benevolence, it was not only the patron saint, but also the representative of Chinese national culture. The traditional values of modern society was facing the impact, the sense of focusing on material and despising spirit, looking for shortcuts was rising; the view of value of advocating solid work, thrift and austerity, industriousness and stamina was fading away gradually. Therefore, inheritance of Duke Guan’s loyalty and benevolence virtue was particularly important.
Professor Zhao Wei said, the theme of this forum was the relationship between Guan Gong’s loyalty spirit and the value of modern life, which aimed to promote Guan Gong’s spirit of loyalty, benevolence and righteousness, advocated the traditional moral culture to purify the human’s mind with benevolence, righteousness, etiquette, wisdom and faithfulness, let’s transmit the Chinese traditional belief culture to the next generation.
The six speakers from the four places across the straits: Hu Xiaowei, a reasearcher of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhu Zhengming, vice president and Secretary General of World Guan Gong Culture Promotion Association, Mei Hong, a doctor studying in England from Sichuan University, Kang Shiyu, a doctoral student of Taiwan National Chung Cheng University, Lv Zongli, a professor of Hong Kong University Science & Technology, Ou Binghuang, president of Alumni Association of University of Macao gave wonderful speech. The audiences asked questions enthusiastically.
The entrepreneurs, Guan's clan relatives, students of University of Macao, many news media and over a hundred guests from Hong Kong, Macao and mainland attended the seminar. The seminar was organized by the Alumni Association and supported by Youth Committee of Alumni Association of University of Macao, graduate student union of University of Macao, Chinese Culture Industry Promotion Association, Macao foundation, Alumni of University of Macao and Development Office.
Reportedly, Macao University Alumni Association will hold a series of activities to promote the Guan Gong culture.
