Xuchang in Henan province is an important place in the history of Guan Yu . He left a lot of outstanding stories in Xuchang . In order to be in memory of Guan Yu , the sculptures in the main hall of the Guan Yu Temple at Balingqiao in Xuchang , they describe the story of Guan Yu “Fighting His Way Single-Handedly over 1000li” ; the painting “Guan Yu Tossing off the Robe with His Sword on Horse” is said to be a work of Wu Daozi , a famous Tang Dynasty painter ; and a color sculpture of Guan Yu reading a history book in the rear hall , which shows that Guan Yu is admired by the people , and all the cultural relics are kept in the Guan Yu Temple in Xuchang , Henan province .
