Miss Guan with Immortal Fame
World Guan Gong Culture Web comprehensive news: Guan Gong’s daughter Guan Yinping (called “Miss Guan” by local people friendly) left many touching stories in Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province that she taught local people to weave, cultivate and read as well as she sought for happiness and erased evils for people, and she also left a tomb. On every Tomb-sweeping Day, many local people burn incense and sacrifice tribute to express admiration for her.
Tomb of Miss Guan is located at Jinlian Mountain of Jiucheng Village, Chengjiang County. Local elderly people remembered that there was a pair of couplet at the end of the tomb saying “let the ashes of Miss Guan and her husband emit aroma all over Jinlian Mountain, and wish Guan family domestic bliss”. The tomb is the co-burial grave of Miss Guan and her husband Li Wei, and it is called “Miss Guan tomb” among the people. It is the historical and cultural relic of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province.
Ling Quan (Spiritual Spring) Chan Monastery of Chengjiang County holds the campaign “Sending Incense” each year, and Guan Suo play is showed ceremoniously. Guan Suo play belongs to ancient Nuo plays. It can be appreciated only in Xiaotun Viilage, Yangzong Town, Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province, and still keeps the original styles and features. Play usually ears a mask and dance while singing, having the relique of amusing gods with songs and dances.
