Hu Deping Prefaces For World Guandi Icon Collections

Latest news from World Guangong Culture Website: in the first ten-day of June, the general counsel of the World Guangong Culture Promotion Association Mr. Hu Deping prefaced for World Guandi Icon Collections; the preface title: Chinese Guangong, World Guangong.

Hu Deping, the former CPC Central Committee General Secretary Hu Yaobang’s eldest son, is collecting the materials belong to his father now, to prepare the memoirs. During busy days, Mr. Hu Deping still took time off to preface for World Guandi Icon Collections. Hu Deping was the vice minister of United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, secretary of Party Committee of National Association of Industry and Commerce, vice president of Chinese Overseas Fraternity and vice president of Chinese Honored Enterprise Promotion Agency before, and now is member of the standing committee of CPPCC and chairman of China-Africa Business Council.

Hu Deping said in the preface: for thousands of years, Chinese nation has formed traditional culture pattern of “worshiping Confucius on humanity, worshiping Guangong on martialism”. In current world, Guangong icon has become the incarnation of loyalty and integrity, the link to cohere public feeling, the complex for overseas Chinese to seek roots and the moral idol of Chinese nation.

Hu Deping said in the preface: the Guandi icon is ever-changing, but the Guandi culture and moral spirit is permanent, which is “loyalty, righteousness, humaneness, braveness and integrity”.

World Guandi Icon Collections was published by Chinese Publishing House. It artistically displays 303 Guandi ikons (including temple ikon, gold, silver and copper casting, Chinese painting, western painting, craftwork and jade, ceramics, clay sculpture, drama modeling, paper-cut and stamp etc.) in 18 countries and regions, such as Chinese mainland, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan, America, Canada, Russia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Mauritius and Mozambique. It is a lavish gift for Chinese martialist Guangong’s 1850 years’ birthday.
