Large National Symphonic Poem Guangong Was Premiered
Comprehensive news of World Guangong Culture Website: in the evening of December 28, Shanxi newly created large national symphonic poem Guangong was premiered in Shanxi Dance Theater. Shanxi artists and populace grandly commemorated Guangong’s 1850 years birthday on that day.

Large national symphonic poem Guangong was an original play forged by Shanxi province in 2010. It showed Guangong’s “loyalty, righteousness, humaneness, braveness and integrity” in various artistic expression forms such as national music and prose poem. This play was directed by famous conductor Cao Ding, composed by Taiwan composer Lu Lianghui, and played by the national orchestra of Provincial Dance Theatre Limited Liability Company. It invited baritone singer Geng Zhe of Central Opera Theater to serve as solo. The whole play included eight parts: Prelude •Spirit, Three Chinese Heroes, Reading The Spring and Autumn Annals, Overcoming All The Difficulties, Meeting In Ancient City, Huarong Ancient Path, Missing Hometown and Epilogue • Guangong Eulogy. It artistically showed Guangong culture spirit by many music forms, including suona horn solo, duet of xiao and koto, western string music trill and Shanxi local percussion music.
Deputy director of the Standing Committee of the NPC An Huanxiao and vice chairman of CPPCC Li Tansheng of Shanxi watched the performance with over one thousand of audience. (reporter Li Xiaofang)
