Yokohama, Japan: Guandi makes inspection tour and protect the people

In July 24th, the worship ceremony was held in the Zhonghua street in honor of the 150th anniversary of the building of Guandi Temple. It is the first large-scale worship ceremony of Chinese people in Japan since the 311 earthquake in Japan. This activity upgrades the faith of the oversea Chinese people in Yokohama.
The activity of parade includes the Zhonghua dragon dance, lion dance, roofed cart and lanterns etc.
After 100 years, the parade team came to the border line of Yuanding for the first time. Japanese policemen stop the passing cars and maintain the order of parade team.
In the parade team, there are the members of Guangong culture worshiping communication group, the perform team from the southern part of Taiwan, the students and teachers in Zhonghua school in Yokohama and the oversea Chinese representatives of all walk of life in Yokohama. This parade team is the condensing essence of both straits of Guandi culture.

The president of Guandi Temple in Yokohama, Lin Jianzheng told us that this parade tour is referred to the photos, postcards and some other materials that has been passed down from 1911,the parade tour of 50th anniversary of worship ceremony of Guanfiin. It is also the yearning to the ancient saints of Zhonghua street.
Wherever the parade goes, many Chinese people put the cold tea at the gate and offer flowers, fruits, blow off firecrackers and make cheering and clap their hands, this all encourage the parade team a lot.
