Kang Hui from the east bank of the Yellow River: cherwashing the faith and the loyalty, painting the Saint Emperor Guan Yu
In a winter night in 2015, Cheng-ming Chu, the vice president of the Guan Yu world culture Association ,came to visit the calligrapher and painter Kang Feng out of admiration.
Mr.Kang lived in a nice and new community on the bank of south lake in Wuchang. Kang Feng smiled humbly, with a twinkle in his eyes, was just a little over thirty.

As soon as they took their seat, Mr.Kang switched on the TV at once and played the Feature films the culture of Guan Yu on the east bank of Yellow River shooted in Shanxi . the roar and the waves produced by the Yellow River waterfall floating down from the sky, the pristine and grand Guan Yu ancestral temple on the ban of Yellow River, the devotion to Guan Yu of the unpretentious people on the east bank of Yellow River, put everyone into the simple and culture accumulated atmosphere of the native land Of Guan Yu at a draught.
In 1982, Kang Feng was born in Yuhncheng, Shanxi,the hometown of Guan Yu, which was on the east bank of the Yellow River.

10 years ago, Kang Feng came to the south of the Yangtze River from the bank of the Yellow River and studied at the Wuhan University of Technology , then obtained the Master Degree in fine, and grew into a members of China Painters Association. In 2002, he won the gold award of
National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition which was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Talk in Yan ' an Forum on Art and Literature.
He will wash his hands and burn some incenses every time before piously depicting the image of Guan Yu. Each paingting was a Meticulous Painting in an attitude of respect. The images of Guan Yu created by Kang Feng were dignified , amiable , quaint and festive in tone.
Many people wondered why the image was so vivid and the brushwork was so fine. His answer was very brief : “It’s the strength of faith!”
He had a wwash that he could find an ancient Guan Yu Temple of any sizes to light incense and paint portraits for Guan Yu in this lifetime.
He was determined to create more elaborate paintings and dedicate them to his hometown the land on the east bank of Yellow River, to the loyal sages of this land through ages, to more people who admire Guan Yu and belive in the spirit of Guan.(Text Photograph: Cheng-ming Chu Zhu Mo)
