Malaysia: Guan Yu from the two-strait was toured overseas for the first time
News from the World Guangong Culture Website: on September 3, three statues of Guangong simultaneously went cruising in the urban area of Xinshan, Johor, Malaysia, which respectively came from Guanlin, Taiwan Chinese Association for Promoting the Spirit of Guangong and the Malaysia Guangong Culture Association. This was the first time for the statues of Guangong from the cross-strait to have an oversea cruising at the same time for more than 1800 years. Such move was deemed as a mark that opened up a new chapter for Guangong cultural exchange cross the Strait.
Before the start of the parade, Mr. Adulaxin, the mayor of Xinshan, presented with a flag on behalf of the cross-strait Chinese and delivered a speech speaking highly of joint efforts made by the cross-strait to carry forward the Chinese culture in Malaysia.

Malaysia sent police to escort the parade, and many Malaysian people rushed to join the parade by motorcycle.

There were more than 3000 people participating in the parade on that evening. The whole Xinshan citizens broke forth in cheers with the air filled with a deafening sound of gongs and drums, bursting firecrackers and rising fireworks. Tens of thousands of people were drawn into enjoying the sight of spectacle. Such scene was even lively than the Spring Festival.
The Culture Festival had attracted large crowds of believers from more than ten Guandi temples scattering in Malaysia and China’s provinces such as Beijing, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Shandong, Shaanxi, Fujian, Yunnan, Guangdong and Taiwan. (Written/ taken by Zhu Zhengming)
