The Investigating Group from Jilin Province and Hubei Province to Guandi Temple in Lhasa, Tibet for Pilgrimage
Guandi Temple in Lhasa, Tibet is the highest one in the world and is the palace for the merging of multi-national culture such as Tibetan culture and Han culture. On this piece of snow-covered plateau there is the most generous sunlight all over the world, the purest snow-covered mountain peak, the bluest sky, the most devout moving crowd. The pilgrimage of the world's highest Guandi temple in Lhasa is all life’s yearning of Guandi believers as well as all life's expectations.
In mid-October, 2008, Mr Zhu Zhengming, Secretary-General of the World Guangong Culture Promotion Association and deputy Secretary-General of Hubei Province Oversea Friendship Association and Mr. Feng Shaojie, Chairman of Jilin Guandi Culture Communication Co., Ltd and a goup of investigating people went to Guandi Temple in Lhasa, Tibet to pay homage to Saintly Emperor Guan and investigated the newly-restored hall of Guandi Temple.
The temple hall is located at the top of Mountain Bamare, three kilometers southwest of the Potala Palace. Last year, our country appropriated three million yuan to restore Guandi Temple and remodel Guandi statue, making Guandi Temple at the snow-covered plateau become a place for pilgrims of all nationalities. On one side of the stone steps before the main hall, there are three large stone monuments on which the inscriptions Mopanshan New-built Guandi Temple were written personally on the murrhine stone by the General Fu Kangan of the Qing Dynasty at Leshi in 1792. The inscriptions recorded the whole course that the Qing Dynasty dispatched troops into Tibet to put down the rebellion of Guo Erka as well as the construction of Guandi temple. In the large hall, Guandi Statue looks dignified and benevolent. Behind the main hall there is a Buddhist hall, and it is called “Jiangyang Lakang” in Tibetan, which means Wenshu Halll.
In Guandi Temple in Lhasa, Mr. Feng Shaojie consults with the Master about the further construction of Guandi Temple.
It is reported that Lhasa Municipal Government will hold the ceremony of formally transferring the newly-restored Guandi temple to Lamas (monks). Today, the pilgrims to Guandi temple in Lhasa such as the Tibetan, the Han, the Hui people, friends from abroad and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan together feel the dignity and greatness of Saintly Emperor Guan in the highest temple in the world, widely read together Guandi’s story of “loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, bravery, good faith”, and together construct a peaceful, developing and harmonious world.
